Release Date: Q1 2026 Early Access
A sequel to the 2014 Russian racing game, decidated to the theme of driving cars in controllable slides. CarX Drift Racing Online 2 is based on a more advanced technology, especially in terms of the game's physics. We can dive into an extensive singleplayer career mode or have fun in multiplayer.
The Russian company CarX Technologies was founded in 2006 and it specializes in various racing games (initially mobile) under the CarX brand. CarX Drift Racing Online from 2014 is among its most recognizable works. That game was originally released on smartphones and tablets, and after a few years transferred to "big" platforms (first PC, then consoles). On the wave of its popularity, a decision was made to create the sequel described here, this time designed from scratch with the most powerful gaming platforms on the market in mind.
As the long title suggests, CarX Drift Racing Online 2 emphasizes controlled drifting and online competition. This is a simcade racing game - it combines the relative authenticity of the driving model (aimed at users of both controllers and steering wheels) with the accessibility of gameplay for the widest possible audience. The physics have become more realistic compared to the first part, just like the vehicle damage model.
The sequel offers locations scattered all over the world (including real, laser-scanned tracks such as Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany, ADM Raceway in Russia or Dominion Raceway in the USA). There are also iconic Japanese spots - from mountain serpentine roads to tracks like Ebisu Circuit.
CarX Drift Racing Online 2 features unlicensed cars, although it's easy to spot real models associated with the drifting scene, such as Toyota Supra, Nissan Silvia, Ford Mustang, or Chevrolet Corvette. A wide range of visual and mechanical modifications are available, allowing to modify vehicles to our preferences.
CarX Technologies has set itself the goal of providing entertainment to both loners and enthusiasts of online multiplayer fun. The career mode is intended for singleplayer fans. We start by learning in a drift school, then compete in street competitions for amateurs and gradually advance to professional championships of international rank, along the way improving cars and looking for sponsors.
The developers pride themselves on replicating the formats of competitions and judging systems used in real drifting events - they prepared them with e-sports tournaments in mind. The available gameplay options include duels, gymkhana, or free riding.
Just like the other works of CarX Technologies, CarX Drift Racing Online 2 was created based on its own physics engine - CarX.
