A game recreating the various situations encountered by coast guard officers, developed by Reality Twist - the team responsible for Ship Simulator: Maritime Search and Rescue.
Coast Guard, released on PC, is a game by Reality Twist studio, known for Marine Rescue Simulator. We play as a coastguard officer called Finn Asdair, who, together with his friends from the team, has to face a series of dangerous tasks. The team consists of engineer Fatima Morgane, chief investigator Colman Bauers and forensic medicine specialist Larry La Bouche.
The production is a simulator. Players carry out a variety of missions - sometimes, they have to save people from a burning ship, sometimes they have to get them out of the water or examine a shipwreck. The game focuses on several aspects. The basic one is, of course, steering two ships - the larger one is accompanied by a smaller boat, which is useful in some situations. In both cases, the action is shown from the third-person perspective.
In addition, in Coast Guard we can disembark the ship, for example, to search an island or a room on an oil platform. The camera switches to first-person perspective and we use our items to solve problems, e.g. we need a hammer to unlock a valve, just like in adventure games.
Coast Guard on PC is a three-dimensional production with good graphics. Some shots can look really good, but after taking a closer look at the environment, we can notice some shortcomings such as poor quality textures.

Game Ratings for Coast Guard Video Game.
Impulsegamer: 2.6 / 5 by Edwin Millheim
Coast Guard is strongest when it is doing ship operations and after that, it tends to get bogged down in a quagmire of oddity.
TheSixthAxis: 6 / 10 by gazzagb
Although somewhat far fetched, Coast Guard's storyline can be rather captivating and adds a refreshing layer to the game. However, it gives the impression that it doesn't really know what it wants to be, without the depth to a full ship simluator and with some lacking gameplay during the investigations. If you're looking for something to keep you busy for a few hours, this will certainly do just that, but you might be left wondering if you could have better spent your time with a game that focuses solely on the side of the game you enjoyed most.
Cubed3: 4 / 10 by Ofisil
While it's more disappointing than bad, Coast Guard's overall quality doesn't justify its current L14.00 price. It tries mixing the replication of real life scenarios dealing with maritime law enforcement, along with a lot of detective work, but it fails both ways in doing so. The simulation part is almost non-existent, and the detective one an uninteresting and slow-paced fetch quest - and if that wasn't enough, the various bugs, almost broken controls, and badly implemented game mechanics are more than enough reasons to throw this back to where it belongs: the digital ocean of shoddy video games.
