Cruelty Squad

Mechanics

Cruelty Squad is a first-person shooter. The game is set in various locations, such as suburbs, offices and police stations. Most of the game consists of fulfilling assignments given to us by our management. It's up to us how we'll achieve our objectives. We can engage enemies in open combat, mowing down everyone in our way, or be sneaky and take out our targets quietly.

Our large roster of weaponry includes pistols, shotguns, radiation emitters, non-lethal dart guns and even the environment, like toilet bowls. The enemies are also diverse, ranging from security, police, fanatics and mutated dogs. Not everyone is immediately hostile, however. Occasionally we'll meet friendly NPCs, who'll tell us more about the game's world.

As we progress through the game, we acquire better gear used to increase our productivity. We can also replay completed assignments and achieve better times.

Technical aspects

Cruelty Squad stands out from most other shooters due to its unique audovisuals. The game looks like a drug trip; the locations are intensely colorful, the enemies seem like they've been pulled out of old games, while the soundtrack is sometimes downright unbearable to listen to.
