Darkest Days is an action game with RPG and survival elements, set in a world after a zombie apocalypse. The South Korean company NHN is behind this project. We can become one of the survivors and fight both the living dead and other people. The game is distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions.

Gameplay

In Darkest Days we view events from a third-person perspective (TPP).

Open world

The game provides us with an open world that we can freely explore. The map features towns (like Sand Creek, where our adventure begins) and villages, as well as wilderness - from sandy deserts to snow-covered islands.

Missions and combat

By accomplishing the quests set before us, we not only gradually discover the truth about the events that brought the world to the brink of destruction, but we also learn to fight to stay alive. On our way, we encounter hordes of starving zombies, as well as hostile people. We fight them, making use of a wide range of weapons, in which all kinds of rifles take the lead.

Vehicles

This is not the end, as cars can also be used as weapons. We are given access to various models, including passenger cars, ambulances, and police vehicles. Additionally, we can modify them, better adapting them to the post-apocalyptic reality.

Base camp

Between each expedition, we retreat to our base camp, which we expand by constructing additional facilities. We have the opportunity to invite other survivors to join us, to support us "behind the scenes" or accompany us on our journeys.
