A Polish FPP shooter from the creators of Blacktail. In Davy x Jones the main protagonists are the headless body of captain Jones and his skull named Davy. They both travel the pirate underworld, facing hordes of enemies, collecting Essence, opening treasure chests and looking for vengeance on Blackbeard.

Davy x Jones is a shooter that allows us to embody a unique interpretation of the titular Davy Jones - the legendary captain of the ghost ship known as the Flying Dutchman. The game was developed by the Polish studio Parasight, known for the warmly received game Blacktail.

Gameplay

In Davy x Jones we watch the action from the first-person perspective (FPP).

Pirate underworld

The game provides us with an open world, specifically - the pirate underworld known as the Locker, which consists of nine islands floating among the clouds. We participate in dynamic battles with opponents, among which we will find the souls of the damned, hellish offspring, as well as behemoths serving as bosses, like the powerful Kraken.

Arsenal and ship

On the battlefield, we make use of an arsenal that includes firearms and a sword. We can use the skull of the main character, which also comments on our actions and shows us the way. Abby also plays an important role in the game. It's a young behemoth at our service, who is a combination of a ship and a whale. Not only does it serve as our mobile base of operations, but it is also a valuable ally, and its combat abilities, led by the cannonade, often save our skin.

Risk and reward

As we progress, we collect Essence that creates chests containing valuable loot. Given that opening such a chest forces us to defeat the demon released in this way, we ourselves must decide whether the reward is worth the risk.
