A survival action game inspired by DayZ and Rust, filled with humor and offering an open world. In Duckside we play as one of the ducks armed with weapons. We must fight other ducks, avoid human hunters, build shelters and craft gear thanks to obtained materials.

Duckside is a survival action game based on a crazy idea. The authors of the game were inspired by such titles as DayZ and Rust, but we do not take on the role of people fighting for survival. Instead, we control ducks who can use firearms. The game was developed and published by tinyBuild.

Gameplay

In Duckside we view the action from a third-person perspective (TPP) or first-person perspective (FPP). During the game we take control of one of the ducks. We end up along with other birds on a vast map with an open structure and we need to fight hard for survival. The matter is complicated by the fact that we face threats both from other players, as well as from human hunters controlled by artificial intelligence.

We travel the map on foot or by floating in the air. We need to keep our eyes peeled to detect threats in time, as well as acquire useful items and valuable resources. The latter are used to craft new equipment and build shelters. The objects we construct are not very impressive at first, but this may change over time. It is worth remembering that our buildings are not indestructible and sooner or later they may be razed to the ground by other, jealous ducks.

Even though flying allows us to get from point A to point B faster, it makes us an easy target for both humans hunting us and other players (though it also works the other way around). The birds from the game do not fight with their beaks, but they are skilled in the use of firearms, including shotguns, rifles and grenade launchers. Shooting is one of the pillars of the game, and while there's nothing stopping us from engaging in it alone, it may be a better option to form a duo or a larger team.
