Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn is the last expansion prepared for Final Fantasy XV released in 2016. The production focuses on the antagonist of the basic version - Ardyn - and its action takes place three decades before the events of FF XV. Square-Enix is responsible for creating the add-on.
Episode Ardyn takes place in Insomnia about 30 years before the events from of the original game. We play as Ardyn and participate in the first stages of his plan of revenge on the royal family. We are also witnessing a unique moment when the protagonist is aware of his own destiny. The episode presents a fragment of the plot that could not be told in the main game.
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn offers the same gameplay model as the basic version of the game. We observe the world from a third-person perspective, and the gameplay focuses on exploring open locations and fighting in real time. The difference, of course, is that we control another hero and have the ability to use his specific skills.
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn has only a single-player mode.
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn does not make any changes in the technical aspect of the game - the graphics design looks practically the same as in the original.
