Another installment in the Football Manager series developed over the years by Sports Interactive and published by Sega. In similarity to the previous installments, the player's job is to lead a football club as a manager, who is in charge of both the team as such, and some additional duties, such as managing a stadium or maintaining good relations with the media and the fans.
Football Manager 2018 for PC is another installment in a popular series of games devoted to managing a football team and developed by Sports Interactive. The game was published by Sega, which is the company which released the previous parts of the franchise.
Football Manager 2018 is a complex game, which places the player in the role of a manager in charge of a football club. The player has to be taking care of different aspects related to the club's functioning. One of the basic tasks is to acquire new footballers – both true stars that cost fortunes, and completely unknown, though promising players whom one trains afterwards and makes them fit better in the team. Each decision made by the player brings consequences – for instance, too many footballers assigned to one position are useless; a team comprised of only the best footballers is very expensive to maintain. The player can improve their financial status through selling redundant players or gaining new sponsors. Apart from that, the player has to take care of relations with the media, set tactics before matches, influence their team's performance during games, make use of the training staff, and more.
The developer included a large database of footballers and clubs – the player leads one of 2500 best teams from 50 countries. This gives the overall number of 600 thousand footballers and experts.
Football Manager 2018 for PC is above all, made up of tables, charts and screens depicting statistics. However, the player can watch the matches thanks to an engine that generates 3D graphics. Although this part of the experience does not look as good as the FIFA series in action, it fulfills its role in a satisfactory way.
When buying Football Manager 2018, one also gets Football Manager Touch 2018 (PC) for free – it is a simplified version of the game.
