Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods for PC is the first official expansion pack for the third installment in the series of acclaimed role-playing games. Forsaken Gods is a stand-alone expansion, so owning the core game is not required. The project was supposed to bring a fine continuation to Gothic 3 and become an apetizer for the fans of the franchise who waited for the release of the innovative, fourth installment, which would be created by Spellbound – a German developer popular mainly for such series as Desperados or Airline Tycoon.

Plot & Mechanics

Again, the player takes on the role of a nameless hero – the protagonist of all previous installments. The adventures depicted in Forsaken Gods cast a new light on the events from the base game and deliver answers for many questions that bothered the fans of the series. The protagonist encounters many friends and enemies that appeared already in the core game, though not all the relationships or friendships endured. Thus the player should remain cautious when interacting with NPCs and stay observant in order to prevent being caught by surprise.
