Gunpowder is a puzzle game set in the Wild West where players have to carefully plan and create an explosion. The game's plot loosely refers to the legend of Robin Hood. A rich businessman called Grimshaw intends to build a railway all the way through a small town, not caring about the fate of its citizens. A lone vigilante Incendio, equipped only with a barrel of gunpowder and his cunning, stands up for them.
Gunpowder is a Wild West-based puzzle game in which players are supposed to trigger carefully planned explosions. The game was developed by independent studio Rogue Rocket Games, founded by two experienced developers, who have worked on such titles as Earthworm Jim, MDK, Escape from Monkey Island or Star Wars: Republic Commando.
The plot of Gunpowder is inspired by the classic Robin Hood legend, transferred into the realities of the Wild West. The main antagonist here is the wicked Grimshaw who saw profit in the railway expansion. We play as a lonely avenger named Incendio, who, armed only with his own cleverness and a barrel of gunpowder, intends to thwart the millionaire's plans.
Gunpowder offers 150 different levels, divided into 5 chapters (plus one bonus chapter). Our task is to arrange controlled explosions. Although we can only use gunpowder barrels, we can start each explosion by using various elements of the environment, such as speeding trains and their wagons, mine trolleys, cannons, and even ordinary candlesticks. Players can show their creativity and be rewarded with points.
Gunpowder offers colorful and cartoon graphics enriched with a large dose of "western" sense of humour from such cult cartoons as Lucky Luke. We observe the action from a top-down view. However, the individual scenes were made in full 3D. In addition, the game offers online rankings and achievements.
