Gunship X

Gunship X, released on iOS, is an unusual shooter in which the player takes control of an anti-aircraft gun during an alien invasion on Earth. As the only person able to save mankind, we try to defeat the hordes of invaders and give people enough time for evacuation. The game was developed by Well Formed Pixels.

Mechanics

The plot in Gunship X plays a secondary role and is only an excuse for demolition and destruction, which we begin shortly after the start of the game. We observe the action from a rather unusual perspective - in contrast to classic first-person shooters, we look at the map from above. The plane in which our cannon is located flies around the map.

In most missions, the main task is to exterminate opponents and protect civilians who are trying to reach the airport from different corners of the map. The player must not only make sure that the invaders don't reach the evacuation point but also prevent them from getting closer to the escapers. Each subsequent task puts us against a greater number of attackers and increases the number of people we have to save. However, this also increases the chance of getting the resources needed to improve weapons.

Technical aspects

Gunship X offers simple graphics with a minimal amount of details - most of the action is observed from a distance, through a special scope. However, the game has some good effects - spectacular explosions and exploding enemies look decent.
