I Am Dead is an adventure puzzle game created by the combined forces of Hollow Ponds studio and indie developer Richard Hogg. The game allows us to "become" the spirit that is trying to save his home.
The collaboration between the Hollow Ponds studio and the artist Richard Hogg has resulted in the I Am Dead adventure puzzle game. The game tells the story of the museum curator on the small island of Shelmerston, who is trying to save his house from destruction. There's only one problem - Morris Lupton, because that's the name of the protagonist, is a ghost.
In I Am Dead, we "become" the spirit of the museum curator, Morris Lupton. But we are not allowed to enjoy the eternal peace. As an ethereal being, we see more than others, and we are the first to see the danger lurking on our home island of Shelmerston - a volcanic eruption. Our task is to learn the long forgotten secret of how to protect our home from a cataclysm.
As a spirit, Morris Lupton has supernatural powers that allow him to illuminate people and objects. This allows us to find out what is hidden in the building without entering it, or to know the memories of the person in front of us. These skills are used to solve puzzles waiting for us in the game.
I Am Dead is a single player game.
I Am Dead has simple, yet charming, colorful graphics. At first glance, there are similarities in the graphics between this game and the Hohokum. No wonder, since the same artist Richard Hogg worked on both games.

If you are looking for a charming little puzzler and hidden object game then you cannot go wrong with I Am Dead. The story experience can be swept through in a few hours, and they will pass quite quickly, but it's an unforgettable journey.

A very interesting game indeed, I Am Dead isn't top-tier indie magic but it's a hide-and-seek sandbox that will reward you the deeper you go. It's refreshingly content-rich, what with the Grenkins to find and riddles to solve for committed players. An appealing sense of place and strong visuals are only spoiled by some misplaced attempts at quirkiness and some minor control issues. Overall, though, I Am Dead makes us long for the sweet embrace of the reaper. Wait, no. It's just a rather enjoyable game. That's it. Not that other thing. Good god.
