The Bulgarian studio Imperia Online JSC is known for the MMO strategy titled Imperia Online. This team's portfolio also includes an MMORPG titled Imperial Hero, the first version of which was released in 2009. Six years later, it received a remake titled Imperial Hero II. This game is distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
In Imperial Hero II for most of the time we are looking at static boards presenting locations and situations in which we find ourselves.
The game takes us to the fantasy empire of Ayarr, where three factions - Haroda, Farolin and Sonoria - are waging a war for influence. We create our character at the start of the game and choose one of the classes differentiated in terms of attributes, as well as strengths and weaknesses. During the game, we align ourselves with one side of the conflict, engage in largely automated battles with opponents and duels with other players, as well as accumulate experience and increasingly better equipment.
The game has implemented a crafting system that allows us to gather resources and use them to create artifacts. By completing quests entrusted to us we gain reputation and titles, which bring us various benefits such as discounts in stores and other bonuses. Apart from combat, we can interact with other players in different ways, such as trading or setting up guilds. The guilds from the game world can build castles and wage wars with other groups of this type.
The gameplay is diversified by special events such as battles with powerful world bosses.
Imperial Hero II can only be played in online multiplayer mode.
