Instruments of Destruction PC

Instruments of Destruction is a sim where destruction plays the first fiddle. It was developed by Radiangames, an independent studio.

Game mechanics

In Instruments of Destruction we observe the action from a top-down view. We demolish buildings and destroy various structures - from radio masts, through single buildings, to huge industrial complexes.

We spread destruction with the help of self-designed machines. The developers give us a wide range of parts from which we assemble more or less sophisticated vehicles. Although nothing stands in the way to construct (and then sit behind the wheel) simple bulldozers, we can also let our imagination run wild and create machines equipped with rocket launchers, huge circular saws or two demolition balls, placed on a huge "propeller". As we progress, we unlock new parts, but the design process itself remains simple and intuitive.

Game modes

In Instruments of Destruction we can find a campaign, in which we move from island to island and complete the tasks set before us. Each stage we can check in one of three game modes: Normal (where relatively simple objectives and slightly more difficult additional tasks are waiting for completion), Challenge (where we get a predefined vehicle at our disposal, and the ability to create our own we unlock only after completing all mission objectives), and Expert (where we have a limited time to complete each task). Apart from that, we can try the sandbox mode, where no tasks or limitations are set to us.

Technical aspects

Instruments of Destruction features high quality graphics. The most noteworthy are the advanced system of destruction (collapsing structures fall into hundreds of pieces) and the physics engine, which takes care of the proper behavior of particles.
