King of the Hat is the work of the independent team Hyroglyphik Games. This absurdly humorous production combines elements from fighting games and platformers in an original way.

Plot

King of the Hat takes us to the fantastic land of Hatland. Each inhabitant has a hat, which has to be guarded like the apple of the eye as it contains the owner's soul - the destruction of the headgear inevitably entails the death of its owner. When Hatland fell victim to the invasion, the people who lived there were taken captive, where they had to fight brutal clashes on the arena, to the delight of the viewers gathered in front of the TV sets.

Mechanics

King of the Hat gives into our hands a dozen or so different heroes with an individual fighting style. Among them we can find a boy named Birthday, a burning lust for revenge Princess Kiara, a humanoid creature Cole, a quiet old man Forest, a scarecrow called Zoe or even.... Washing Machine.

The game, during which the action is observed from the side, consists of spectacular duels in various arenas. We must destroy the hats of our opponents during the fight. In addition to jumping over your opponents' heads, you can also throw your headgear at them, while being careful not to hurt them too much. The duel is won by the player who manages to stay alive as the last one.
