Mechanics

Upon starting their adventure, players have to create their own characters. The main protagonist can represent one of the six available races - Humans, Halflings, Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, and Orcs. Particular races feature distinct appearances and sets of six main traits (including strength, agility, intelligence, and charisma). Another step involves selecting a class, which determines the further gameplay; players can choose from Rogue, Wizard, Ranger, Champion, and Cleric.

In Kings and Heroes for PC, players get to observe the action from either the third-person or the first-person perspective. The game gives at our disposal a vast open world covering one hundred square kilometers, which one can traverse either alone or in a company of up to six other players. The main gameplay aspects involve exploration (you can visit mighty castles, crypts, and caves), completing quests assigned by various NPCs, fighting multiple foes (the most prominent being the powerful bosses), and gradually upgrading the main protagonist.

Battles take place in real time, and the key to success lies in the skillful utilization of different abilities – during the game, the main protagonist continuously learns new ones by unlocking consecutive experience levels. The items can be obtained by completing different quests and picked up from the fallen enemies. The game introduces also an elaborate crafting system that allows players to create healing potions, weapons, pieces of armor, and clothing from the acquired resources.

Technical aspects

Kings and Heroes for PC has been based on the Unreal Engine technology, which resulted in high-quality visuals – players are bound to appreciate the dynamic lighting effects that accompany spell casting.
