Klax is an arcade and logic game, which debuted on coin-up machines for the first time in 1989, thanks to the Atari concern. The main goal of the game is to create hands from blocks of the same color, moving towards the player on a horizontal platform.

Although the authors of the programme were clearly guided by the idea of the immortal Tetris, the general rules have been changed in such a way that we can confidently speak of a large dose of originality. The most important thing in the game is to support a small platform, which is used to take care of the coming from the depths of the screen, square blocks. After catching any element, it can be dropped into the well below. If we manage to skillfully manoeuvre the blocks of one color so that they form a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line, we will get points and the layout will disappear, freeing up the space occupied so far.

Subsequent stages (referred to in Klax as "waves") differ in the criteria for winning. In most cases, it is a matter of arranging a predetermined number of layouts, but sometimes other layouts may occur, e.g. crossing the point boundary or catching all the blocks that appear on the board. After each victory in a given stage, a special bonus is granted, the amount of which is determined by the degree of filling up the well. The more free fields, the better.

Klax does not knock on your knees with an audio-visual setting (compared to the original slot machine, it presents itself on average), but it is able to pull for long hours. The strength of this programme is simple and transparent rules, good differentiation in terms of difficulty levels and the need for the player to demonstrate reflex and logical thinking.
