Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is an action adventure game and a spin-off of Like a Dragon (formerly known as Yakuza), smaller in scope from the main installments. Like the rest of the series, it was developed by Ryu ga Gotoku Studio, an in-house team owned by Sega.

Plot

The game is set after Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. It stars Kazuma Kiryu, the series' former main protagonist - up until he was succeeded by Ichiban Kasuga in Yakuza 7.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name explains what was going on with Kazuma during this time, showing his exploits which took place between the sixth and eighth installment.

Mechanics

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is a return to the series' roots. Once again, it's an action adventure game with real-time combat.

The player explores an open world, completing various quests and brawling in the streets agains groups of enemies. As we progress through the game, we unlock new combat styles, more advanced moves and techniques.

The world is full of optional side quests. Many take the form of various mini-games, like karaoke and arcade cabinets.
