Lumberjack's Dynasty

Lumberjack's Dynasty is another simulation with RPG elements from the Dynasty series, developed by the Austrian studio Toplitz Productions. The devs used their previous experience and decided to release another life simulator, this time as a lumberjack-businessman. The game first appeared in Steam's early access.

Plot

The player takes on the role of a lumberjack who inherited a forest camp from his dead father. Our task is to transform the rundown company into a great empire. We start our adventure from a small, niche company that tries to get back on its feet after years of neglection, and we end up with a thriving business that brings huge profits. An important objective is to meet the current requirements of the market and to adapt our business to them so that it can be continued uninterruptedly for generations to come.

Mechanics

Lumberjack's Dynasty is a combination of a businessman and lumberjack simulator with RPG elements. We deal not only with basic forestry work, cutting down trees or processing wood for specific needs, e.g. furniture, but also with the economic side, so that our work bears fruit and becomes a profitable family business for many years to come.

Performing tasks enables us to progress the main character, who does not only work in the forest or on the farm, but also engages in more basic activities such as cooking and repairs in his own home. There are many tools at the player's disposal that make the life of a lumberjack much easier.

The protagonist can move around the relatively open world on foot or in vehicles that transport wood, for example. The game also featured a lot of specialized machines for its processing.

Technical aspects

The creators used the rather simple engine known from Farmer's Dynasty and the results, by the standards of 2019, leave much to be desired. Although the graphics do not look very impressive, the game's low budget serves as an explanation for that.
