Mass Effect 2: Overlord Description
Mass Effect 2: Overlord is an addition to the popular sci-fi RPG by Bioware. This time, we shall be facing an aggressive artificial intelligence. The extension can be played at any time: during the main campaign or after its completion.
The story revolves around a failed experiment which aim was to find a way to communicate with the geth. The way to achieve this was a fusion of human and mechanical alien. The head of the entire research project, Dr. Gavin Archer, chose his brother David as an ideal candidate. Unfortunately, something went terribly wrong in the course of the experiment, and the connection of the two beings created an unstable artificial intelligence which began taking control over the local computer systems. Now it is trying to get out of the planet to connect to a larger network. If it is successful, stopping it will be practically impossible. At this point, we are entering the picture. The head of the entire project, believing that the outcome of this experiences is not irreversible, begs Shepard to save his brother.
Stopping the aggressive artificial intelligence is a multi-stage mission. Before even discovering its location, we will be forced to destroy the radar plates and communication systems of several bases. When you finally get to the place of the artificial intelligence’s residence, a trip through the interior of its mind awaits out, where, in order to gain our sympathy and compassion, the AI will show us the memories from the beginning of the experiment.
An important feature of this addition is that between the successive research stations which were taken over by the AI, we move with the hovercraft called the Hammer. This machine is equipped with homing missiles, as well as with built-in engines allowing it to rise for a limited period of time. This is often required to avoid obstacles such as a river of lava. Other features offered by this extension is completely new technology and the ability to scan several new planets.
