Monster Jam Battlegrounds

Monster Jam Battlegrounds for PC, PS3 and X360 is a new entry in Monster Jam series, a series of monster truck racing games especially popular in United States. The game was created by Team6 Game Studios, a developer known from numerous AA titles, including the infamous FlatOut 3: Chaos & Destruction.

Mechanics

Battlegrounds attempts to introduce a number of novelties to the series, allowing us to take part in monster truck shows, as well as leaving the player with a number of cross-country and city tracks which often require completing the race in one piece. We can choose from 45 courses, from Monster Jam arenas (including the famous Sam Boyd Stadium), up to more open tracks, filled with ramps, leaps, and other objects. The gameplay sees us balance the speed and the weight of our monster truck in order to perform physics-based stunts and complete the race in the fastest way possible. Our garage contains 23 official Monster Jam vehicles, including legends such as Grave Digger, Max-D, or Monster Mutt.

Game Modes

Monster Jam Battlegrounds is a singleplayer-only title. However, the game is governed by online rankings that allow players to send their best tries in attempt to join the hall of fame. Moreover, we are left with the Stunt Mode, a new addition that focuses on destruction and insane stunts.

Technical Aspects

The game maintains the average, budget-tier graphics that the series has accustomed us to. Fortunately, the players are subjected to a large dose of adrenaline-inducing gameplay, which should make the game enjoyable for every monster-truck devotee.
