Release Date: December 10, 2025
A sequel to the 2017 American football parody, where teams of mutants clash on the football fields, and the fight for victory takes on brutal proportions. In Mutant Football League 2, we can lead orcs, superhumans, and futuristic robots into battle and gradually develop our players.
In 1993, the game Mutant League Football was released on the Sega Mega Drive console. It served as a parody of American football, where instead of players, titular mutants fought for victory on the fields.
In 2017, Digital Dreams Entertainment released its spiritual successor titled Mutant Football League, which a year later received an updated and content-enriched version - Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition. Years later, the developers returned to this brand, preparing Mutant Football League 2 sequel described here.
The gameplay in Mutant Football League 2 is based on the formula developed for the first part of the series. We are dealing with an arcade parody of American football. During the game we take control of a team consisting of eight players, scoring points and fighting for victory against opponents.
The game offers us a range of teams representing the professional league and lower leagues. Among them, we find teams like Karcass City Creeps, Killadelphia Evils, Blitzburgh Steelheads, Orcs of Hazards, and Tokyo Terminators. These teams are made up of players (such as mutated superhumans, powerful orcs, animated skeletons, or futuristic robots) who are diversified in terms of size, skills, and strengths and weaknesses.
The fight for victory takes on a more literal dimension here than in classic American football. We have a variety of weapons and dirty tricks at their disposal, and referees can also fall victim to the on-field battles.
The level of brutality is further heightened by stadium equipment elements (such as circular saws cutting through players or hot geysers), as well as attractions like giant worms hunting players. Weather also plays a role, with conditions like blizzards making gameplay more challenging.
By achieving successive victories, we develop our players, equipping them with increasingly better armor and weapons (such as chainsaws or shotguns), as well as SkillRoid enhancements that provide special abilities during the games or various mutations.
Mutant Football League 2 can be played solo or in multiplayer mode. The game allows us to have fun with other players online or on a shared screen.
The cornerstone of the game is the franchise mode, where we take control of a team gradually climbing to the top of a football career, deciding on its lineup, and setting tactics for upcoming matches. Additionally, a Doom Field Designer mode was implemented, allowing us to design our own arenas.
Our games have live commentary from Tim Kitzrow, known for his appearances in NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, NHL Hitz, and MLB Slugfest.
