Next Day: Survival is an action game with RPG traits. The players are exploring a three-dimensional environment and they complete quests received from non-playable characters. They are gathering items, fighting and gradually developing the skills of their character. The main task of the game is simply to survive in the dangerous environment. Achieving success requires paying attention to protagonist’s health (managed by a complex system) and taking advantage of an advanced crafting mechanic.

The game also features a reputation system that enables the protagonist to shape relations with various factions existing in the game’s world. Next Day: Survival features a wide variety of melee weapons, guns and vehicles that can be used by the players.
