Pan-Pan for PC is an adventure game with logic elements developed by Emil Berner’s one-man studio Spelkraft. He designed every aspect of this production, starting with mechanics, through logic puzzles, to the audiovisuals. It is also the debut project of this young developer.

Plot

The action takes place in an unknown fantasy world. We assume the role of a heroine whose ship had a failure that forced her into emergency landing on an uncharted planet. In the game, she has to traverse the mysterious land and solve a number of puzzles. They will lead her to devices that can help her repair her ship and thus go back home.

Mechanics

The gameplay of Pan-Pan for PC focuses on exploration and solving logic puzzles of different complexity. The action is shown in the classical three-dimensional isometric view; thanks to the frequent horizontal operation of the camera, we can see the available locations from different perspectives. A very important role in exploration is played by the environmental narrative that enriches the story context and gives unique quality to the available corners of the planet. The title is a typical point ‘n’ click adventure game so all commands are issued with the use of the mouse.

Apart from exploration, Pan-Pan puts an emphasis on logic elements. The access to further locations depends on completing equipment necessary to solve puzzles that we have to deal with at a given stage. Moreover, puzzles require us to manipulate various elements of the environment. In the game, we also encounter a lot of non-player characters that reveal plot details to us and serve as guides in the uncharted world.

Technical issues

Pan-Pan for PC features very interesting and colorful graphics. Simon Viklund, the composer of PayDay 2’s soundtrack, was invited to co-create the music for the game.
