RPG 01 July 2003

An action-adventure game with RPG features. It is based on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Except for the title and the presence of some common motives (most of all the Black Pearl ship), the game has little in common with the movie. It was at first developed as sequel to Sea Dogs, another similar game created by studio Akella, but the popularity of the movie caused the change of the title.

The sixth installment in the popular series featuring the tenacious archaeologist Lara Croft. In Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness the protagonist is falsely accused of killing her former mentor, who is also the main antagonist – Werner Von Croy. During the game Lara is forced to go into hiding. She tries to clear her name through conversations with other characters and associating facts. This fact changes gameplay dramatically and pushes it more towards a classic adventure game.

The next installment of the bestselling series of FPP shooters, focused mainly on multiplayer gameplay. Unreal Tournament 3, developed by Epic Games, is not an improved version of the previous installments, but a completely new game. The title introduces a number of previously unavailable elements, and employs the third generation of the powerful Unreal Engine.

Another installment of the bestselling series of tactical FPS shooters, in which we follow the actions of the fictional Rainbow Six anti-terrorist squad, created by the famous writer Tom Clancy. This time the action takes us to the titular city of gambling, which has become a hotbed of dangerous terrorist outbreaks. In terms of mechanics, the game is a continuation of the line started in Rainbow Six: Lockdown, where meticulous tactical planning was abandoned in favor of more dynamic action.

The player takes control of one of the six civilizations participating in the Great War of Galaxy Control. The game features more than 300 different types of units, buildings and military installations, well known to Star Wars fans.

Worms: Armageddon is an extended version of the cult turn-based strategy, Team 17 Software. The creators remained true to the original Worms gameplay, but added new fun modes, additional weapons and accessories for the title games. Along with the release of the game, WORMNET network service servers were also launched, allowing for multiplayer clashes via the Internet.

Orcs Must Die! Death of Orcs is a dynamic combination of arcade and RTS. Orcs Must Die! takes place in the land of fantasy, where the greatest threat to the inhabitants are the hordes of orcs. We play the role of an unlucky magician, who has to repel the invasion of green leather on an extremely important fortress. The game approaches the subject with a pinch of salt and its graphic design is maintained in a cartoon style.

In Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel the players’ task is simple: deliver the chosen cargo before the deadline and without damage. During the game, players not only have to control the truck, but also face various trouble along the way, such as severe weather, car crashes, police control or leaking fuel.

System Shock 2 brings a continuation to a an acclaimed action game featuring RPG elements, combining classic science-fiction elements with cyberpunk. The second installment was once again created by Looking Glass, this time however, supported by Irrational Games. The game is set 40 years after the events depicted in the original System Shock, when the UNN military organization tries to limit the power of great corporations, using a state-of-the-art spaceship called Von Braun to do so.

The fifth full-fledged installment in the bestselling Tomb Raider series. Again, the player assumes the role of a comely British traveler and treasure hunter by the name of Lara Croft. Contrary to the previous installments, the plot here is based on retrospections and divided into four separate episodes.

RPG 2025

A side-scroll action RPG, which is a spin-off of the game Dungeon Fighter Online. Although Dungeon & Fighter: Overkill takes from the original, it introduces numerous novelties, among which the 3D graphics is the most important. The game uses Unreal Engine 4 technology.
