A fighting game heavily inspired by NeoGeo Pocket Color games. Pocket Bravery is a 2D arena fighter featuring a diverse roster of characters, all having different movesets and powers.
Pocket Bravery is an indie fighting game by Statera Studio. It was inspired by the genre's all-time greats, such as Street Fighter, Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters.
The cast of Pocket Bravery are ichor wielders, able to channel elemental energy to bolster their strength, channel it through objects or evoke it. The game's protagonist is the vengeful Nuno, tailing the Matilha criminal organization. It's up to us how his fate unfolds.
Pocket Bravery is a 2D fighting game, featuring a wide roster of characters, all of whom differ in terms of fighting styles. The core gameplay consists of arena combat, in such places as New York, Beijing, Glasgow and Japan. The game was designed as to appeal to fighting game veterans and complete newcomers. Aside from punching, kicking, blocking and countering, the combat features three systems we can take advantage of to tip the scales.
The first is the elemental system; charging a special meter lets us unleash a character-specific special move. The second is taunting - a well-timed taunt can benefit us, but also bring unexpected consequences, as the enemies react differently based on their personality and relationship with our character; we're also completely exposed while taunting. The third are breakthrough attacks, letting us sacrifice half of our elemental meter to stop an advancing opponent.
Pocket Bravery supports singleplayer, as well as online and local multiplayer.
Pocket Bravery features colorful, pixel-art visuals inspired by NeoGeo Pocket Color games.

Game Ratings for Pocket Bravery Video Game.
Siliconera: 7 / 10 by Joel Couture
Pocket Bravery is an impressive fighter with a great roster of complex characters and a suite of fun modes and helpful tools. If only the characters looked as good as the flowing moves and strikes.
VGamingNews: 6 / 10
Pocket Bravery charges into an arena full of heavyweights and manages to land a few convincing blows, proving there is room for the little guy in the land of the giants. The Neo Geo-inspired visuals sock you in the mouth as soon as the bell rings, and the soundtrack and character design land as a flurry of blows throughout too. There’s an impressive number of modes to entertain a single player, including a wonderful tutorial and training mode, but sadly, you may be hard pressed to find any folks to play with online, which severely hampers the long term appeal and hurts my willingness to recommend it, in spite of all positives. Ultimately, Pocket Bravery can’t lift the championship belt, but boy, does it land a few haymakers along the way.
Hey Poor Player: 3.5 / 5 by Gregory Peterson
Pocket Bravery is still a fresh take on the chibi fighter genre and an absolute blast to play through. Hopefully, we get to see more fighting games from this Statera Studio down the road and maybe even some future character releases. If battling with mighty mini brawlers is your jam, or if you’re just a lover of all things fighting games like myself, don’t hesitate to pick up this tiny titan.
