Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 for PC, PS3 and etc. is a new installment of the Japanese football series released annually by an internal team of Konami led by Shingo „Seabass” Takatsuki. The new entry introduces new features and removes some of the elements, which served as a base of the earlier installments.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 introduces new gameplay modes – the trademark Become a Legend, Master League, or Champions League were reinforced by Copa Libertadores and Master League Online, a management mode that enables us to lead a personalized team in online matches. Unfortunately, most of the leagues and teams maintain placeholder names – French Ligue 1 and Netherlands’ Eredivisie are the only leagues with real player names.
The game received reworked passing mechanics. The previous installments of the series kept a simple system of pressing a button and choosing a direction. Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 places special emphasis on direction and power of the pass, enabling us to perform accurate passes and introducing more casual gameplay.
Aside from choosing a team and formation, the player were enabled to apply certain instructions (e.g. aggressive pressing, placing offside traps) to different parts of the match and anticipated result (e.g. order the players to attack if the match is a draw).
Finally, the authors added new animations, including acceleration, as well as improved the looks of players and stadiums. We can also access a stadium editor or a gift shop that offers unusual add-ons, such as candy or barrel shaped footballs.
