Fighting 21 April 2016

Another installment in the popular 3D fighting game series based on the best-selling Japanese comic books created by Eiichiro Oda. The title was co-developed by Namco Bandai Games and Spike Chunsoft studio – the creators of Danganronpa and the Conception series. The plot is not very sophisticated as it serves only as a pretext for the most famous One Piece fighters to engage in duels. The game includes all of the important characters from the original manga.

A sequel to the third-person perspective action game, called Bullet Girls, that was released in 2014. In the original game the players controlled scantily clad female warriors who represented two military schools. This time Aya Hinomoto, the heroine of the original game, must lead her colleagues from the Ranger Club in a war between schools, against the Elda Private Institute. Gameplay mechanics of Bullet Girls 2 are almost same as in the predecessor.

A Japanese roguelike role-playing game and a part of the Mystery Dungeon series. Shiren The Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate was originally released in 2010 for Nintendo DS only in Japan, while its enhanced edition, Shiren the Wanderer 5 Plus was released in 2015. You play as a quiet wandering warrior named Shiren, accompanied by a talkative ferret called Koppa.

Chaos;Child is a visual novel sci-fi adventure game. Players are following the story of a high school student working for a school newspaper on the case of mysterious deaths, potentially related to an equally mysterious case that had shaken Tokyo a few years earlier.

A sequel to the 2013 action game Toukiden: The Age of Demons, created by Japanese studio Omega Force (known for e.g. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors). Unlike its predecessor, which was only available for portable devices, Toukiden 2 was also released for PlayStation 3 and 4 home consoles. The game's mechanics are similar to those of the first installment, so it's still a hack and slash with RPG elements.

An upgraded version of the fourth installment in the Samurai Warriors series, which came out for the tenth anniversary of the franchise. Developed by Omega Force, the game was released not only for Sony consoles, but also for PCs. The game is a conventional TPP hack-and-slash, featuring spectacular battles. Samurai Warriors 4-II is set in Feudal Japan, and the player takes part in subsequent skirmishes, fighting both smaller groups of enemies and entire armies.

An arcade football game, directly referencing the cult Kick Off series for Amiga computers in the 1980s and 1990s. The new version of the game was developed by Dino Dini, as commissioned by Sony. Dino Dini's Kick Off Revival is firmly grounded is the traditional mechanics of the series, while at the same time introducing a range of necessary upgrades. It's still a dynamic football match simulation with high difficulty level.

An arcade game of the popular mobile franchise developed by the independent studio Yeah Us!. The action is observed from a side view, and our task is to complete subsequent bike trails of increasingly higher difficulty level, filled with various jumping hills, ramps and terrain obstacles, while performing spectacular stunts and chaining them into highly-scored combinations. In total, we have to tackle over 500 challenges that test our skills.

JRPG game by Japanese band Kemco. The player controls a team of heroes who must save the magical land of fantasy from destruction. Production offers a large world for sightseeing, a turn-based combat system and a campaign with numerous optional side tasks.

A dynamic, side-scrolling shooter created by Pyramid studio. Planet Darius has been invaded by Belsers – an alien army that entrenched itself in the oceans and seas of the whole world. To combat the threat, the planet's inhabitants have prepared a new lethal weapon, the so called Burst System. The gameplay of DARIUSBURST Chronicle Saviours focuses on eliminating hordes of enemies – aside from normal cannon fodder, the enemy ranks are sometimes reinforced by tough bosses.

The sixth major installment in the series of jRPGs enriched with elements of strategy, visual novel and dating simulation game, which was first launched in 2000. Summon Night 6: Lost Borders tells of three characters, each having their own companion: a flying creature with unique abilities. When strangers literally fell from the skies into the world of Fillujah, the protagonists decided to learn the secret they hide. The gameplay is based on two pillars.

A remastered edition of Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea, originally released on PlayStation3 in 2014 and developed by Gust. Compared to the original, the game includes all the expansions, several new episodes, additional enemies, changes in the journal, and more character customization options.

An extended edition of Claire - a survival horror game released in 2014. In comparison to the original release, the new edition brings mainly improved audiovisuals. Once again, the development works were carried out by Hailstorm Games. The game still offers a two-dimensional environment and pixel-art graphics. However, the creators managed to implement both 3D objects and depth of field effects.

Another installment in the series of dynamical action games traditionally developed by Omega Force. This time the player assumes the role of Yukimura Sanada, one of the more popular protagonists of the series. We follow his story from birth, through the trainings that prepare him to combat, to the civil war and death during the siege of Osaka. The gameplay is similar to the one present in the previous games in the series and is based on battles with thousands of participants.

A sequel to the action RPG from the Japanese studio Gust. Nights of Azure 2 lets us revisit the dark fantasy world, in which humanity rules only by daylight, while night belongs to demonic minions of the Night Lord. However, we won’t see any old faces from first game, as the second game focuses on completely new characters. Players take role of Ashule, a warrior who dies while trying to defend her friend Liliana from a powerful demon and is reborn as half-demonic being.

A continuation to a jRPG bearing the same title. The game is part of a larger universe known from the The Legend of Heroes series. Trails of Cold Steel II begins a month after the events depicted in the first installment. The civil war in Erebonia began for good. Rean's goals are to find the remaining students from the Seventh Grade, as well as to put an end to the bloody conflict, which has torn the protagonist's native country apart.

A science fiction action-adventure game by Bandai Namco, based on the manga and anime series known outside Japan as The Asterisk Wars. A.W. Phoenix Festa takes place on an island, the surface of which is mostly occupied by a modern metropolis and the campuses of six rival magic schools. You can play as either the series' protagonist, Ayato Amagiri, or an anonymous Seidoukan school student.

A dungeon crawler developed by Nippon Ichi Software. Criminal Girls: Invite Only is a new and updated version of an original jRPG released on PlayStation Portable in 2010. The player takes care of the souls of seven girls suffering punishments in hell. The protagonists’ sins can be atoned once they climb the highest floor of the hellish spire and defeat various monsters – only then can they earn the right to be reborn in the real world.

An action title developed by Omega Force. This is a crossover production – the game’s heroes come from the most popular series belonging to Tecmo Koei. The player arrives in a fantasy world which is facing the spectre of destruction. In order to ward off the danger, the princess performs a ritual that would summon a true hero from another dimension. However, something goes wrong, and the world is visited by a number of heroes who join the opposing, power-hungry parties.

Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds is an improved and expanded version of a visual novel game initially released on PSP and PlayStation 3. It was developed by Idea Factory. The game takes place in the 19th century Japan and tells the story of a young girl named Chizuru Yukimura, who travels to Kyoto in search for her father, a respected physician and scientist.

An action game developed by Japanese studio Aquire. Gameplay mechanics of Akiba’s Beat are similar to the previous production of the developer – Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed. It combines RPG, beat’em up and visual novel features. The second installment of the series once again takes place in one of the most famous districts of Tokyo – Akihabara. The citizens of the district are caught in a time loop due to which they are endlessly repeating one day.

An extended version of the turn-based tactic strategy XCOM: Enemy Unknown developed by Firaxis Games, which was a restart of the cult series started by Microprose in 90s. The plot tells a story of the first conflict between humanity and an extraterrestrial civilization. You are in control of a head of the XCOM organization, whose aim is to fend off the invasion of aliens and figure out their technology.

An arcade 2.5D action game developed by Mexican studio Xibalba that tells the tale of highly-advanced insects. MilitAnt takes place in a fantasy world inspired by such movies as Ant Z and A Bug’s Life. However, the title was developed for older players. The main protagonist is an ant who protects its home from an invasion of merciless termites that attack the ant colony in search for precious crystals - an irreplaceable energy source.
