Assuming the role of a journalist, the player finds himself in cyberpunk Neo-San Francisco of 2064 and conducts an investigation so as to find the creator of the machine called Turing – the world’s first Artificial Intelligence with self-consciousness and an ability to think independently. The setting is retrofuturistic – the creators have drawn inspirations from the 1980s’ vision of the future.

Dex mingles elements of classic platformers with role-playing mechanics; it was inspired by classic arcade titles, as well as the works of William Gibson. The player has to face a mysterious AI that has broken loose and wishes to make irreversible changes.
