In 2007, the studio Infinity Plus Two (formerly known as Infinite Interactive) delivered the game Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. This was a production at the intersection of match-3 and RPG genres, set in the fantasy world of Etheria originally created for the Warlords series.

Over time, this title received an add-on in the form of Puzzle Quest: Revenge of the Plague Lord, as well as an expanded edition titled Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns. Years later, another remastered and complete version of this production followed in the footsteps of the last one, featuring all the content created so far, namely the Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition described here.

Gameplay

We start the game in Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition by creating a character, which means deciding on their appearance, profession, and statistics. We explore Etheria, complete main and side quests, and push the plot forward. Over time we expand our sphere of influence in the land, attacking and conquering castles and cities or building our own citadel with buildings that provide us with special powers.

Combining three elements

And speaking of powers - they come in handy on the battlefield. The battles were implemented in the form known from match-3 type games. In order to gain mana to cast spells and attack enemies, we need to match at least three of the same elements displayed on a board covered with square fields.

Character development, companions

As we progress, we develop our character, learn increasingly complex spells, and also gather better equipment. Additionally, the game allows us to assemble a team that will assist us in our journey, or catch creatures and tame them to become our mounts.
