Relicta is a science fiction first-person puzzle game, in which we solve puzzles using the laws of physics (concerning gravity and magnetic field). The game also offers a fully-fledged plot. The Spanish development studio Mighty Polygon is responsible for this game and it is his debut project. The publisher is Ravenscourt.
The action of Relicta takes place in 2120 on the Moon - to be precise, on the Chandra space base established there, which was abandoned after a devastating war. The main character is a scientist named Patel, trying to find out the secret of an anomaly discovered on the Earth satellite called Relicta. The life of the heroine's daughter is at stake.
Relicta is a puzzle game, in which the game world is observed from the first person perspective (FPP). The player's task is to traverse locations and solve puzzles, which generally require the use of physics - more specifically, the use of gravity and magnetic fields, that can be influenced by the heroine (thanks to the gadgets). While playing, we also discover the plot.
We can only play Relicta alone. The basis of the game is a feature campaign.
Relicta has a very nice, three-dimensional graphic design. The best impression is made by the locations, which are very different from each other and characterized by original designs. The engine responsible for the lighting system also works well - things like gadget effects or reflections on glossy surfaces can really be fun.
