Rise of Industry allows us to manage a company specializing in logistics, industry, farming, and mining; nonetheless, there is nothing standing in our way to combine those fields. The game takes place across procedurally generated maps offering diversified challenges.

Rise of Industry for PC allows players to become a fledgling businessman. It is up to the players to decide whether their enterprise is going to be based on logistics, industry, farming, mining, or a combination of all of these fields. The latter option requires us to gather enough financial resources and learn all the secrets of the market.
In the PC release of Rise of Industry, players observe the action from the top-down perspective. The game takes place across vast maps. The primary gameplay elements involve erecting buildings and starting transportation tracks – the resources one gathers have to be transported (by boats, train, trucks, etc.) to the plants manufacturing diverse goods. The ready products (there are over 100 different products one can manufacture in the game) have to be transported to the stores.
Since particular territories are procedurally generated, each one offers different challenges – this regards not only different resources available but also the necessity to dig tunnels in the hills or building bridges over rivers. It is crucial to erect buildings in such places to use the full potential of a given biome. This is not the end, however, as the competition is always hot on players’ heels – this can be used to one’s advantage by entering partnerships from which several companies can profit (nonetheless, this requires players to possess good PR and marketing skills). A key to success lies also in the flexibility, as the market is very volatile – one has to take care of the environment (which is a must should you want to stay in good relations with neighboring metropolises) and facing random, often tragic, events.
In Rise of Industry for PC, players can test their skills in the sandbox mode or face challenges offered by different scenarios. After its premiere, the game received a patch that now allows players to enjoy the multiplayer mode.
Rise of Industry for PC is bound to catch the players’ attention with its original albeit simple visuals. Even though the entire experience might seem poor in terms of the details, players will soon notice certain subtle details (such as fish swimming in rivers and lakes or the different types of cargos transported by e.g. trucks). These details often make it easier for players to keep up with the situation in the in-game world and the possibilities offered by a given territory.

Overall, I do enjoy Rise of Industry, even with its flaws. I'm sure that some of my gripes boil down to things I haven't yet figured out. We could chalk it up to its unique style of management game but I am not sure if that is really the issue here. It has made leaps and bounds since its early access days and I'm thankful for the progress, but for some reason I still feel like the game could use more improvement. The concept is great and the foundation is there for Rise of Industry to be an excellent management game, but it still needs some time. At least for me. But don't worry, I'm still going to be playing this game well after writing this review!
