Selfloss is an adventure game with RPG elements, inspired by Russian and Icelandic legends and folk tales. It was created by an indie developer, Alexander Goodwin.
Selfloss is set in a fantasy world. It stars an old man, who one day heads out to help an unknown, wailing animal. His adventure leads him through a mysterious land full of puzzles and danger, inspired by Russian and Icelandic legends, eventually letting him heal his wounded soul.
Selfloss makes use of the top-down perspective. The game features many diverse locations to visit, including small settlements and ancient ruins; some are traversed on foot, others on a boat. The protagonist wields a magical, levitating staff which lights up the area around him and can be used to solve puzzles or defend him from danger. There are numerous traps to overcome and enemies to defeat in fast-paced battles.
Selfloss features hand-drawn visuals inspired by postimpressionist paintings.

Game Ratings for Selfloss Video Game.
VGChartz: 6 / 10 by Lee Mehr
Goodwin Games' interactive folktale ironically evokes its dour atmosphere in two ways: impressive presentation and unpolished gameplay.
Nindie Spotlight: 8.1 / 10 by Justin Nation
Undeniably has a unique style and story, though mechanically it’s a bit on the creaky side
ZdobywcyGier.eu: 5 / 10 by Bartosz Michalik
Selfloss is not a game worth recommending, at least until some of its elements are thoroughly overhauled. The overly slow pace and uninteresting storyline also contribute to this impression. Yes, the game looks and sounds nice, but it doesn't matter much when the mechanics and the gameplay itself are full of shortcomings and bugs, and what's worse, they don't make it any fun.
