She Remembered Caterpillars is a isometric 2D puzzle game developed by Ysbryd Games. She Remembered Caterpillars takes us to a weird world where we have to find our missing father. A bigger emphasis, however, is put on the gameplay mechanics (manipulating the colors), not the plot. During the game we will control colorful creatures that move around small maps and can only cross bridges that are of the same color as them.

She Remembered Caterpillars is a puzzle game developed by Jumpsuit Entertainment. The German developer was founded in 2014 and this project is the first title in their portfolion, although one of the studio's founders, Daniel Goffin, has previously released Symmetrain on mobile devices.

Mechanics

The players control colorful creatures, which they have to be guided through a number of levels. This is not easy, as earthworms of various colors stand in the way, serving as bridges and obstacles. It is only possible to pass through them for characters of the same color. There are some exceptions because our pupils can merge to form e.g. a purple or a green character, etc. In this way, one creature takes on the characteristics of two and can pass through two types of "bridges". The aim at each level is to take all our proteges to special white fields, which of course is not easy and sometimes requires some serious thinking.

In total, forty levels are waiting for us. From time to time the basic rules are varied with new solutions or new characters so that the game does not get boring.

Technical aspects

She Remembered Caterpillars' visuals are colorful not only due to colorful characters, but also because of the unique level designs. The world that we visit is very unusual, and at times even disturbing. The soundtrack was composed by Thomas Höhl, known from Galaxy On Fire or the Deponia series.
