A free-to-play science fiction shooter, acting as a remake of Splitgate 2. Splitgate: Arena Reloaded ditches the faction system and its associated skills and limitations, combining the best elements of the first and second installments.
In 2021, the full version of the warmly received game Splitgate was released. It was an online shooter that enriched the classic gameplay scheme with mechanics reminiscent of Portal. After four years, it received a sequel in the form of Splitgate 2. Sadly it failed to replicate the success of its predecessor, and the changes introduced in it did not appeal to fans.
Developers from the studio 1047 Games decided to take their brand back to the drawing board. The result of this endeavor is Splitgate: Arena Reloaded described here - a revamped version of the second installment of the series, combining the best elements of both titles. Like the two previous entries under this banner, it is distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
Splitgate: Arena Reloaded drops the idea of factions introduced in Splitgate 2 . Additionally, there is no trace of the skills and limitations associated with them. The developers allow us to choose our play style by opting for equal starting conditions for each character or selecting customizable equipment sets.
Changes also affected the set of maps, which includes 5 new arenas and 6 redesigned locations. The arsenal has also seen new additions, featuring 3 new types of primary weapons and one special weapon. Furthermore, the creators have refined the progression system to reward us for every game. The ranking system has also been refreshed.
The core gameplay of Splitgate: Arena Reloaded remains unchanged from its predecessors. During the game, we engage in team battles on arenas. In addition to accurate shooting and dodging enemy attacks, success is also ensured by skillfully using portals that allow for quick "jumping" between different points on the map. This allows us to evacuate when things get heated nearby or flank enemies and surprise them with shots from behind.
Splitgate: Arena Reloaded is designed for online multiplayer gameplay. Among the game modes, we can find Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, as well as party modes like Gun Game and Shotty Snipers.
