Spooklands

Spooklands, released on AND and iOS, is a 2D shooter with an unusual control system. The project was created by Luderia Jogos Digitais, known from Battle Rides: Duel.

Mechanics

The authors did not bother with the elaborate plot. In Spooklands, we play the role of a barbarian trying to break through several levels, whose movements are controlled with one finger. A simple control system is accompanied by a high level of difficulty, which is due to an unusual solution developed by the authors. We don't move the character directly - instead, we can only shoot and the huge recoil from the weapon pushes the hero in the opposite direction. You have to aim in such a way that not only to hit the opponent but also not to collide with other enemies.

During the game, we visit three locations - the jungle, the nest of giant spiders and a huge necropolis. Each of these places was filled with hordes of enemies to kill and piles of items to collect. There were also battles with huge bosses. Spooklands offers three difficulty levels and ten possible upgrades found on maps. The game uses a top-down perspective. Our achievements are rewarded with scores, which we can compare with the achievements of the rest of the community through online rankings.
