Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings

Super Mega Baseball is an arcade baseball game. The game was developed by Metalhead Software. Unlike the MLB series, which dominated the baseball simulation genre, the title does not have licensed players and teams, but it makes up for it with colorful comic graphics and a comprehensive system of statistics and character progression system, as well as a quite realistic simulation of ball physics.

Mechanics

Super Mega Baseball has two game modes - Season and Exhibition. The first is a typical campaign known from many other sports productions. Players choose one of twelve fictional teams with their strengths and weaknesses. Each player can be freely configured - we can choose their gender and appearance. Each player is also described by several statistics determining which position on the pitch will be the most optimal for them. We can increase the statistics by hiring professional trainers and establishing an individual training program. The ability to attract new coaches depends on the level of the player's profile, which increases with successive wins. This gives us points that we can spend on improvements. Their number depends not only on how we play a match but also on the difficulty level described in the scale from 0 to 99. Exhibition mode is a local multiplayer game for up to four people in two opposing teams. The game doesn't support online modes but has online rankings of the best players.
