Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is a remastered version of an arcade game released in 2006. As in the case of the original, the title was developed by Sega and represents a series started in 2001 on arcade machines.

Plot

In Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD we follow the adventures of a monkey named AiAi and her friends called GonGon, MeeMee, and Baby. The task we have to perform is to take the bananas, AiAi's favorite food, from the sinister Captain Crabuchin.

Mechanics

In Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD the action is shown from third-person perspective. The game consists of over a hundred levels, across which the monkey, enclosed in a transparent sphere, rolls at a dizzying speed, jumping over obstacles, avoiding cleverly arranged traps and collecting scattered bananas. Also, from time to time AiAi has to face bosses (eight of them are waiting for her), defeating which requires us to find their weak points. The matter is complicated by the fact that we are given a certain amount of time to complete a given stage.

Game modes

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD can be played solo or in local multiplayer mode. For the purpose of the latter, various party mini-games have been prepared, the list being dominated by the decathlon, which is absent in the original. Besides, there is nothing to stop us from boasting about our achievements in both modes in the online rankings and comparing our results with the players from all over the world.

Technical aspects

While working on Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, the devs adopted colorful cartoonish visuals, which has been refreshed and adapted to modern standards.
