Beyond the Dawn is the first major expansion to the jRPG Tales of Arise, serving as its direct sequel. It features the same characters and the world as the base game, though significantly changed. It was developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn continues the storyline of the base game. Year after, the united worlds are slowly blossoming, learning how to work together, creating greater works of art and crafts than they ever could by themselves. These times aren't good for all, however - Nazamil, the daughter of a Dhanan and a Renan Lord who opposed the protagonists in their efforts, is a social outcast affected by the curse of the mask. The party must help her gain acceptance from the people and avert her cruel fate.
The main mechanics do not differ from the base game: once again, we must explore a partially open, changing world, interact with characters, complete quests and fight enemies. The expansion adds new dungeons, quests, costumes, adding up to roughly 20 hours of content.
The character skills aren't directly transferred over from the base game. We start off with a number of points and other bonuses, depending on how far we've come in the base game, which we can spend to develop our characters.
The expansion is not standalone and requires beating the base game first to access.

Game Ratings for Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Video Game.
GamingTrend: 85 / 100 by David Flynn
Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn might not be the most necessary followup ever made and you've seen this kind of story told in RPGs many times before, but it's still delightful nonetheless. Combat remains a blast, the story is thoughtful with a fantastic final boss, and the world feels like a realistic impression of what a year after global slavery would be like. Beyond the Dawn is exactly what it should be, nothing more and nothing less.
Digitally Downloaded: 5 / 5 by Matt Sainsbury
Tales of Arise’s ambitions to deal with a weighty, pressing theme slightly outpace execution, particularly in the latter half of the story, but the effort is noble, and the game is certainly capable of generating thought and discussion like a great work of art should.
Gaming Boulevard: 9 / 10 by Nick de Reiger
In many ways, Tales of Arise feels perfect for Nintendo’s hybrid. The structure naturally lends itself to portable play, the performance holds up remarkably well, and the complete package offers absurd value for JRPG fans who somehow missed it the first time around. More importantly, this isn’t one of those compromised handheld ports that constantly remind you what you’re missing elsewhere. The soul of Tales of Arise remains completely intact on Switch 2. The emotional story still land. Combat still feels fantastic. The world still begs to be explored. That’s what matters most. For newcomers, this is an easy recommendation. For returning fans, the portability alone might justify a second journey through Dahna.
