Tidalis is a simple puzzle game designed for casual players, but thanks to a huge variety of challenges it also provides a large portion of gameplay for more advanced users. The main task of the player in Adventure mode is to clear successive boards from a certain number of falling blocks. Each of them has an arrow drawn. To remove individual blocks, rotate them in such a way that a fired beam of energy moving in the direction indicated connects at least three squares of the same colour, not necessarily adjacent to each other.
In order to diversify the game, the creators have prepared several special blocks that significantly influence the course of the game. Amongst these is for example a block which "devours" objects encountered on its path, or which freezes neighbouring fields. While exploring the main adventure thread, the player has to struggle with a certain time limit, and in return for achieving the goal, the player receives special items and can learn more about the story presented in the form of static graphics.
In addition to the main thread presenting the not very exorbitant level of difficulty, the creators have also prepared much more demanding challenges. As a result, there are over 20 types of tasks waiting for puzzle enthusiasts, which differ from each other both in terms of the mechanics of the game, as well as in terms of the indicated goals - e.g. clearing the board in a certain number of moves.
Tidalis also offers a fun mode for two players. In addition to the competition mode, the creators of the production have also made available cooperation, in which together with our friends we strive to achieve the best possible result. We can choose a duel via the Internet or on a single computer.
Tidalis has a nice graphic design. During the game, the player is accompanied by partially animated, drawn backgrounds. The creators have also prepared an option to make it easier for Daltonists to play. The music track consists of nearly an hour of light, catchy tracks.
