Timespinner 2: Unwoven Dream is the second installment in a series of action platformer metroidvanias originating from 2018. It was developed by the same indie studio as the first game, Lunar Ray Games.

Plot

Timespinner 2: Unwoven Dream is set in the fantasy land of Surflynd. Its protagonist is a retired war hero, Auria. When the world around her is ravaged by a massive disaster, her son runs away to prove himself as a mythical hero capable of saving Surflynd. His mother must this follow him and protect him from danger before something happens. Along the way, she discovers ancient prophecies and the role she's to play in stopping the impending disaster.

The story is a direct sequel to the first game. We'll get to meet some familiar characters and witness some references to our previous adventure.

Mechanics

Timespinner 2: Unwoven Dream is a side-scroller. The adventure is set in many different locations, including dense forests, underwater depths and the ethereal Domain of Dreams. All the stages are interconnected, creating a maze-like world map. As we traverse them, we must talk to characters, complete quests, jump on platforms, avoid traps and fight enemies. The player must keep moving, wield melee weapons and use their numerous combat abilities. As we progress through the game, we acquire new equipment and learn new abilities, handy both on the battlefield and while exploring, unlocking access to new locations.
