Release Date: September 30, 2025
The sixth main installment in a series of games about driving different trains, developed by Dovetail Games (creators of Train Simulator). Train Sim World 6 introduces new routes set in Europe and United States, as well as new locomotives, random events and passenger chatter during train journeys.
In 2017, Dovetail Games studio, known for the Train Simulator, started a new series of train-focused games. Train Sim World, which we are talking about, has become the new apple of this team's eye over the years. As the title suggests, Train Sim World 6 described here is its sixth installment.
Train Sim World 6 is a simulator that allows us to take on the role of a train driver. Sitting at the controls of various locomotives, we travel through European and American routes, independently operating all devices and systems. The conductor mode created for Train Sim World 5 returns here, through which we have to take care of passenger service, which involves checking tickets, opening and closing doors, and ensuring safety.
The impression of being on board a real train is enhanced in Train Sim World 6 by the conversations of passengers that we can hear in the background. We also need to listen carefully to the announcements to prepare ourselves for various surprises that may happen to us during the journey. We can't prepare for everything, because we can also experience various random events (like longer stops at the signal or additional speed limits) and breakdowns.
Train Sim World 6 gives us three routes to choose from.
We can travel the Morristown Line (stretching between New York and Dover) on board the EZT Arrow III, ALP-46 with MultiLevel cars, or at the helm of the NJ Transit ALP-45DP locomotive (available for owners of the Deluxe Edition).
On the Riviera Line route (leading through the coasts of Devon Banks and Dawlish sea wall), we drive at the helm of the Intercity Class 802 and Class 150/2 Sprinter, and with the Deluxe Edition - also the Crosscountry BR Class 220, which we can take on a journey through the hills of Plymouth and Paignton.
The third place on the list is occupied by the Leipzig-Dresden railway line, on the Leipzig-Dresden section. We travel it at the helm of ICE-T trains, BR 442 or DB BR 294 (if we have the Deluxe Edition).
The icing on the cake is the ability to freely choose the route and train, immortalize our rides using the photographic mode, as well as creating our own train projects and scenarios and sharing them with the community.
Train Sim World 6 operates based on Unreal Engine technology.
