Trench Tales is an action game that takes us to an alternative world engulfed in brutal conflict. The game was developed by the independent studio Talking Drums. Its release was handled by Crytivo, a company that has the stylistically similar game Ratten Reich in its catalogue.

Gameplay

In Trench Tales we view events from a third-person perspective (TPP).

War adventure

The adventure leads us through war-torn locations, from swamps and trenches to castles. The main element of the game is fighting opponents. While traversing the devastated world, we must face not only standard enemies in the form of undead soldiers, but also oversized, heavily armed adversaries. Opponents often have a numerical advantage over us, so the key to success is tactics and careful planning of the next steps, as well as using cover during fire exchange.

Arsenal

The game gives us access to an extensive arsenal including pistols, machine guns and sniper rifles, as well as heavier weapons like flamethrowers and grenades. Weapons can be modified, adapting them to individual needs and preferences. For example, if we prepare to use stealth rather than open combat, we can attach a silencer to our pistol. The implementation of a scope to a rifle allows for precise shooting from a greater distance, while adding a stock and grip to a shotgun increases its stability.

Powers

This is not the end, as the game also gives us a range of supernatural powers that we can use on the battlefield. Available powers include slowing down time, healing wounds, or seeing enemies through walls.
