Vette! These are car races in which the player will have the opportunity to face the opponent in driving in the crowded streets of San Francisco.

There are four models of Chevrolet Corvette to choose from, both factory (Stock Corvette, ZR1 "King of the Hill" Corvette) and after tuning (Callaway "Twin Turbo" Corvette, Callaway "Sledgehammer" Corvette). Individual vehicles differ in strength, grip and, above all, speed. After determining which car we want to sit behind the wheel, we still have to choose the level of difficulty and the opponent who will compete with us. Enemies drive completely different cars than the player and in turn they are: Porsche 928S4, Lamborghini Countach, Ferrari Testarossa and Ferrari F40. The game offers four types of routes, consisting of driving from A to B in the shortest possible time. Thanks to the rich network of streets, which corresponds to what is actually in San Francisco, it is possible to choose a different way to victory each time. It's up to the player to decide if they want to take part in the race on the distant, but also on the fast highway, or if they decide to take the narrow, urban streets.

Depending on the level of difficulty chosen at the beginning, the game may take a diametrically different turn. In the training mode we do not worry about anything, but we rush straight to the finish line. At higher levels, however, there are elements that cannot be ignored. Firstly, speed limits. Each street has its own road signs which, if not followed, can lead to a police chase. If we do not manage to escape the patrol, we will get a fine, which at the finish line will cost the appropriate number of penal seconds. Secondly, it is not possible to enter legally everywhere. Some streets are unidirectional and others are completely out of traffic. If our suspicious behaviour is spotted by a police patrol, we will have to prepare an escape again. Another problem is the low durability of our vehicle. Every crash with the numerous in Vette! emissions from road users may significantly deteriorate the technical condition of the car or even lead to its deterioration. All this makes defeating an opponent at a higher level of difficulty a real feat. It's hard to follow the rules when the enemy is driving really well and can manoeuvre all the surprises encountered on the street, including the police.

Vette! offers pleasant vector graphics with a large number of different details to breathe some life into the ossified streets of San Francisco. It is also worth mentioning the large number of cameras from which we can observe the events on the road and decently realized static images showing the workshop and the map of the city. To sum up, Vette! is an interesting proposition for car racing fans, containing elements not found in other products of this type. An additional advantage is the possibility of playing in two people, but only with a cable or a modem.
