In 2017, independent studio Total Mayhem Games released an original adventure-logic game titled We Were Here for asymmetrical, cooperative gameplay. It gave birth to a series, the development of which became a mainstay of this team's work over the following years. We Were Here Tomorrow, described here, is the sixth item under this banner.
In We Were Here Tomorrow the events are once again viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP). During the gameplay we explore the complex and solve logical and environmental puzzles, which, like in the so-called escape rooms, block the way forward.
As we have only a part of the necessary information, in order to deal with the problems we encounter, we have to work closely with a companion, exchanging the acquired data through the handset, as well as describing what we see. A novelty in the series is the equipping of characters with unique, differing outfits and abilities that allow them to overcome specific obstacles.
We Were Here Tomorrow can only be played in co-op mode over the Internet.
We Were Here Tomorrow takes us to the Norcek complex, a retrofuturistic facility where we wake up in mysterious capsules. As we traverse it and face intellectual challenges, we gradually discover what this place is, why we ended up here, and the significance of our actions.
