X-Treme Express is an unusual racing game involving rolling stock. The player takes control of the locomotive of his choice, trying to get to the destination as quickly as possible. This production originally debuted only in Japan (as Tetsu-One Densha De Battle! World Grand Prix), and it wasn't until time that the decision was made to develop its English version. The only target platform for X-Treme Express is PlayStation 2.

The races are held on ten basic railway routes located in different parts of Japan (urban areas, rural areas, etc.). In addition, it is possible to unlock ten boards played in a fictional environment. It is worth mentioning that many different routes lead to the destination. A successful start can also contribute to victory, allowing you to get a confident lead. The game is full of exciting moments, all the more so as the possibility of making it difficult for opponents to drive or even cleverly derail their trains is foreseen.
