Release Date: November 10, 2016
A typical point-and-click adventure game and a continuation to 2012's Yesterday. Yesterday Origins was developed by the creators of the original game - the Spanish Pendulo Studios. Again, the player takes on the role of John Yesterday; as for the plot, it was divided into two timelines. Thus the player, familiar with present-day events, is taken back to the era of the Spanish Inquisition.
Yesterday Origins for PC, PS4 and etc. is an adventure game which brings a continuation to Yesterday, a game released back in 2012. Yesterday Origins was developed by Pendulo - the creators of the original game, also popular for The Next Big Thing, as well as the Runaway series.
The campaign focuses on John Yesterday's further adventures, who is the protagonist of the original game. The plot here was divided into two timelines, thus the players are acquainted both with present-day events and those which took place back in the era of the Spanish Inquisition.
In terms of the mechanics, Yesterday Origins follows the pattern of the predecessing game. Thus the players received a typical representative of point-and-click adventure games. For the most part, the player explores the in-game environments, talks to NPCs, gathers items and solves puzzles. A helpful system of tips was implemented, thus the less experienced players were not left alone.
Yesterday Origins for PC, PS4 and etc. does not make use of any elements present in the developer's previous projects -it is Pendulo's first fully three-dimensional game. Conversion to 3D did not spoil the game's art style however, thus Yesterday Origins offers cartoonish visuals again.

Game Ratings for Yesterday Origins Video Game.
TheSixthAxis: 7 / 10 by Jim Hargreaves
All round, it’s a solid point and click adventure game that combines that familiar old-school formula with a couple of clever quirks. It has a decent story to boot as well, though there are slight issues with pacing, both in terms of the how the narrative unspools combined with some of the more obtuse puzzles. Together, these create a barrier that will stump players while ultimately holding Yesterday Origins back from greatness.
GameSpew: 9 / 10 by Robert Gammon
Yesterday Origins is simply charming, and the developers have shown a real understanding of how to make a point and click game stand out in its genre.
Push Square: 6 / 10 by Jacob Hull
Yesterday Origins has a strong cast of characters, an intriguing plot, and beautiful presentation. When you manage to work it all out, the game can be a real joy, but when things go wrong, it can be frustratingly slow and pedantic. Like its narrative, it jumps back in time to remind us of when games were far more frustrating and constrained. It brings back elements of gaming's past that we like, but it also brings back those that we don't. We've come a long way, but if all those troubles feel far away, well Yesterday Origins, to quote The Beetles, makes them look "as though they're here to stay".
