Civilization 6 Players Fed Up and Ask for Help; Unplayable on Xbox

The Civilization VI version for Xbox consoles is in a deplorable condition. Players crowdsource reports errors that freeze the game.

It turns out that Sid Meier's Civilization VI is currently impossible to play comfortably on an Xbox console. Many users report problems with app errors that crash the game - in some cases they occur even 10 minutes after each other. On Reddit alone there are at least 14 threads, where players are crying out for help. Of the things that players can do by themselves (reinstalling the game, playing without DLCs, etc.), almost nothing works.

However, it seems that the developers are already working on a patch. At least that is what it seems from the messages from the support team.

"Due to the problems many Xbox users are experiencing while playing Civilization VI the relevant team is already working on a patch. We appreciate you reaching out to us and letting us know about the issues. It's important for us to work with the community and make sure the game is in the best possible condition. We apologize for any inconvenience and ask for your patience."

Xbox users may have it the worst, but problems are also reported by players on other platforms. There is no shortage of bug reports in the Switch or iOS versions as well. Some of the established threads are over 2 weeks old, so the problem has existed for far too long. In the meantime it remains to be patient, because at this point it is not known when the patch is expected to appear.
