Escape from Tarkov With Fundamental Change; Game Just Got Easier

A long-awaited change came to Escape from Tarkov, which modified a key gameplay element. The reception of the latest update, however, is mixed.

Escape from Tarkov has always been famous for its realism, and thus proved too difficult for many players, who quickly abandoned the title due to its hardcore nature.

Immersive FPS

Where does the hardcore aspect of Escape from Tarkovmanifest? The game from Battlestate Games emphasizes an immersive experience, where, in addition to a realistic shooting system, an important aspect of gameplay is survival in the broadest sense.

  • Escape from Tarkov players must do without such "facilitators" as a damage marker, minimap or certainty of enemy death.
  • Weapons are hard to control, but powerful. You can literally die from a single bullet in the game, and the wound system has a real impact on gameplay (in addition to the loss of valuable health points).
  • For the player, death means the loss of all items in possession (often extremely valuable), as well as the end of a given session of the so-called raid. Items can, admittedly, be insured, but death in this game often proves painful.

As it turns out, however, people who have abandoned EFT due to the exorbitant difficulty level, have recently had an excellent excuse to test the game again.

The game's developers - after many months of requests from some players - decided to change one of the key elements of the game, which in general should make the gameplay easier.

The key change and its consequences

What has changed in Escape from Tarkov? The developers have announced via Twitter that the vertical recoil of all weapons in the game has been reduced by 15%.

This change has a fundamental impact on gameplay. Not only does it make guns easier to control, but also expands the pool of desirable weapons.

Community reactions

What do players think of the changes? The update to the shooting system has met with a mixed reception from the players.

On the one hand, fans are praising Battlestate Games for the fact that the developers are moving in a direction, in which most of the sizable arsenal can become effective under combat conditions.

"A good development. Hopefully this means that weapons like the FAL will eventually be useful outside of full meta builds."

"The game needs more realistic recoil and this is a good step."

"This was an absolutely needed change and it is excellent."

"A good decision, it will make some weapons like the SA-58 viable again."

On the other hand, however, a sizable number of players is demanding further changes to the shooting system. In particular, fans point out the problem of initial recoil (the behavior of the first three bullets), which they believe is far too large, as well as the unattractive single-shot mode.

"A nice change, but I think BSG still doesn't understand what we mean. If they want the game to have a better "feel", they should try to make single shots more attractive."

"Please, and now change the funny first shots, during which the gun literally flies."

We can do nothing but wait for further developments and look out for announcements of further changes in Escape from Tarkov.

Battlestate Games is a Russian studio. The company was originally founded in St. Petersburg. The developers have since moved their headquarters to London, although some of the developers continue to operate from Russia.
