As promised, Bethesda studio released a major update for Fallout 4 today. They are implementing bug fixes and stability improvements across all platforms, along with extra content such as a new mission called Echoes of the Past and a set of skins that were previously only accessible through the Creation Club.

Additionally, patches offer unique changes, depending on the platform. On PC, there will be support for ultra-wide mode.

Fallout 4 - next-gen update for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5

The patch intended for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 is notably the most impressive.

  1. Thanks to the update, Fallout 4 has become a native application for these consoles (previously, their users played versions from Xbox One and PlayStation 4 through backward compatibility).
  2. Players can choose between performance and quality modes.
  3. The patch also allows for fun at higher resolutions and at 60 frames per second.

These updates were much needed. The popularity of the Fallout's TV adaptation, combined with promotions, led to a surge in players purchasing games from this brand. Fallout 4 was the biggest beneficiary of that popularity, as it suddenly reclaimed the top spot on the bestseller list in Europe. The game also achieves extremely impressive activity results on Steam - yesterday's record was 117,224 people playing simultaneously.
